Imagine if you didn’t have a band manager

“Imagine if you didn’t have a band manager.”

One of my bosses threw this hypothesis out a little while ago.

Oh yeah, we have a band manager who gets paid absolutely nothing – it’s called me and Mark.

When I told Mark about this conversation, he asked why didn’t I just tell her that we manage ourselves?

I guess because her pronouncement felt unassailable somehow and it was sort of cool that she thought we had someone managing us. And maybe it would be considered uncool if people knew how much of promo work we do ourselves.

I wonder how many other people think we have someone doing all underground work of getting MAKAR’s music out there?

Well, sorry to burst everyone’s misconceptions but it’s mostly me emailing and frustrating people in line behind me at the post office’s Self-Service Kiosks.
